The Paulding County School District confirmed to Channel 2 Action News that a school bus driver has been suspended as police investigate a bus stop dispute with parents.
The dispute happened Wednesday afternoon at the Old Harris Road and Jimmy Lee Smith Parkway bus stop for Allgood Elementary students.
Paulding County Schools said the bus’s normal driver called out sick that day and a substitute driver was filling in.
The district said its drop-off process “broke down” as the driver tried to drop off the younger students.
“A backup resulted and the situation soon escalated as parents waited at the stop for their students,” the district said in a statement.
Paulding County schools said the rest of the students arrived home safely with help from a supervisor. Posted by Chill
